Week 9 #22 Downloadale Media

I went to hcpl.net and tried eMedia.
I am glad to have this chance to brows the service of library. Since I used a lot of library materials, through the eMedia I have the different access to get to the material I need.
In the eMedia, it works like an e-library. Therefore, you have two weeks to check the book out. It sounds inconvenient, but it will push me to finish the reading as soon as possible.

week 9 #21 Podcasts

I am teaching at Chinese school on Saturday.
In podcast.net, I found some Chinese teaching websites like tofupod.
It is so useful because there is Chinese conversations.
I added the website to my bloglines account.

Week 9 # 20 You Tube

I like Chinese music, so I search Chinese music.
I got many choices of Chinese instruments.
I like the the comments at bottom to see what the rating of the video I was going to watch.
Libraries can use the You Tube to post activities to show people about what happened in the library and made it more interesting.

Week 8, #19 Web-based Apps

I used Zoho to post Alaska.
First, I created an account in Zoho. I searched google for the picture and saved in
"my document".
Second, I used "Zoho Writer" to write information. I used "background color" function to choose the background color,"Formating function" to choose fond, bold, color, size, and "Insert images" function to download the Alaska picture from my document.
At last, I used the "publish" function to post the whole document on my blog.
I also tried other functions. I like the way the program put out. It is clear and convenient.

Wonderful Place for Vacation

I did not like "My Space". I don't like chatting on line. This is not my place.

Week 7 # 17 Blog About Technology

I'd like to talk about cell phone. I got my first cell phone about 4 years ago and insisted that I didn't need any fancier one. This year I needed to take family plan, therefore, I had the option to update my phone. At first I still insisted that I just want the simple and plain one. However, after I "really" figured out what kind cell phone my son had, I decided that I wanted a cell phone with MP3 function. I can not be more happier with my new cell phone. At our age sometimes we refuse to try out the new technology, which is kind of stupid. Right now I take only one phone and enjoy my favourite songs everywhere I go.
I left a comment to my co-worker blog where has a image about me 20 years ago as a nurse.

Week 7 #16 About Wiki

I created an account on iHCPL Wiki yesterday, and added my blog to the favorite blogs. Since I am interested at the math competition for my kids,I also added the Mathcounts to the favorite websites.

week 6 #15 Library 2.0

I read article about "TO better bibliographic services".
The most interesting I found in the article is that Web 2.0 can reduce the overlapping results of the search. It bothers me a lot that I got repetitive results when I did the google search. Besides, I like the idea " ....are mapped to latitude and longitude coordinates, it becomes possible to present users with graphical means of searching by place......." It makes searching job easier.

Week 6 # 14 Techorati

I went to Technorati website. Since the holiday is approaching, I searched "holiday cooking" and found the results are different: Under all blogs the result is 2,566, under URL the result is 101,under tag the result is 101 (exactly the same result like URL), and under blog directory the result is 41. I liked the last one which narrows down the search and shows how many fans like it.
I also viewed the "popular" , the Top favorite blog #1 is Boing Boing (2964 members have made this a favorite). The top blogs #1 is Engadget. Surprisely, I found some Chinese reactions in there.
